In his speech Alagura Kingdom expressed deep concern over the alarming rate at which depression is destroying the mental health of most persons. He said that most depressed people are not depressed due to any illness but they are depressed because they do not have money and the financial strength to shoulder their day to day responsibilities. He prayed God to bless, guide, protect and provide all the basic necessities of life to the entire indigenes of Alagura Kingdom.

The Kabiyesi equally lauded the humanitarian dispositions of Engr. Musiliu Eric Shanu for sponsoring the event. In furtherance of his speech, he said that when Mr. Musiliu Eric informed him of his intention to contribute toward the development of his Kingdom, he told him not to bother giving him any money but rather use it to empower his people. He added that Eric’s benevolence motivated him to also support the event with the purchase of tuber yams. The Kabiyesi equally told his people that Mr. Musiliu Eric is someone who gives priority attention to children and education.

Some highlights of the event were: the distribution of cash price to forty people, distribution of yams, indomie, exercise books, school bags and writing materials.
