IKEJA LGA EXCO UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF FRANK ONYEKA PIUS MEETS WARD EXCO: HON. AKEEM AKINDE UNVEILS JOBS, YOUTH, HEALTHCARE AND BORDER REOPENING AGENDA FOR IKEJA FEDERAL CONSTITUENCY

Ikeja, Lagos – The African Democratic Congress (ADC), Ikeja Local Government Area Executive Committee held a strategic meeting with all Ward Executive members on Thursday, 10th September, 2026, at Ikeja.

The meeting, which was well attended by party leaders, ward chairmen and stakeholders, had the ADC candidate for Ikeja Federal Constituency, Honourable Akeem Akinde as the Special Guest.

Addressing the Exco, Hon. Akinde unveiled his cogent plans to change the narrative and build a working system for the people of Ikeja.

Speaking in clear and plain language that every ordinary Nigerian can understand, Hon. Akinde said:

On Jobs and Youth Empowerment:

“Our plan is to build jobs and change the narrative. We are going to create a working system that will promote the interest of our youth. Nigerians are tired of the decaying system which has put all our youths into poverty. Many of our graduates who are driving Uber have lost their jobs due to the poor economy.”

On Accessible Representation:

“I am going to be accessible to you. I will sit down with you in my office when you vote for me as your Representative for Ikeja Federal Constituency. Every member of my constituency will have my phone number. We are going to make sure you are part of the government. We will set up the government together.”

On Healthcare:

“Health care should not be a luxury for the residents of Ikeja, it should be available for all.”

On Economy and Border Closure:

“Compare Nigeria to all the developed countries in the world, Nigeria is poorer, yet we have all it takes as resources to be among the best. I have a company in Ogun State where many youths come to me for external trading that will extend their trade across neighbouring countries like Benin Republic, but today our brothers have been kicked out of many businesses due to closure of borders. Atiku has said that he is going to reopen the borders and I promise to be among the legislators who will support Atiku Abubakar for every policy that will benefit our youth.”

On ADC’s Preparedness:

“The cogent plans of ADC and how we are going to solve the problems of the people in our constituency is the most important thing. ADC is well prepared to solve Nigeria’s problems.”

On 2027 Election and Ikeja Politics:

“In Ikeja, we have 667 polling units, this time around we are determined to win them all. We must not die in the hands of APC and their wicked policies. APC have turned every project to family projects. We must chase Tinubu back to Iragbiji in Osun State where he comes from.”

On Insecurity and Extortion in Lagos:

The high level of area boys in Lagos is too rampant. Extortion is taking place everywhere on the streets. This we must make a law that will end it.”

The meeting ended with renewed commitment from Ward Excos to mobilize all 667 polling units in Ikeja for ADC.
