By MainFocus News, Ikeja, Lagos
It was a morning of colour, songs and placards in Ikeja on Wednesday as hundreds of women under the umbrella of ADC Women Lagos stormed the streets for a Solidarity Walk in support of the Atiku/Amaechi 2027 presidential ticket.
Led by the Convener, Alhaja Bolanle Jafojo, the women, dressed in green, white and orange, carried placards with bold inscriptions: “Hardship Must End! Atiku Is Coming!”, “Lagos Women Say YES to Atiku/Amaechi 2027!”, “Tired of Hardship? Vote Atiku/Amaechi 2027!” and “Bring Back People-Oriented Subsidy! Vote ADC!”
The walk, which started at Ikeja, was aimed at creating awareness for the Atiku/Amaechi ticket, mobilising women and youths for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), and communicating Atiku’s promise to bring back a people-oriented subsidy.

Speaking with journalists during the walk, the State Youth Leader said she was very excited at the turnout. “To bring people together is not an easy task. I thank Almighty Allah for the success of this event,” she said. “We are still expecting more people from Ikorodu, Ajeromi, Ifako-Ijaiye and other areas.”
“Women Are The Most Affected” – Mama Jafojo
But it was Mama Jafojo’s emotional interview that captured the heart of the walk.
When asked about the presidential candidate’s promise to bring back fuel subsidy, Mama did not hesitate. “We the women, we are the main ones affected by the removal of fuel subsidy,” she said.
“Before this administration, if our husband gave us 10k to buy foodstuffs in the market, we used to buy enough. But now, 10k is not enough to make a pot of soup.”
She lamented that feeding has become the biggest challenge for every average home in Lagos. “Our women cannot afford to take children out anymore. Even to buy them ice-cream at Shoprite is now a big problem. Feeding is a big challenge.”
“Don’t Sell Your Future”
Mama used the opportunity to advise women across Lagos not to fall for vote-buying in 2027. “My advice to the women, they must not take money from bad politicians who will trade their future with money during elections. Your vote is your power. Don’t sell it.”
She encouraged women, especially in Lagos State, to come out en masse in 2027 and vote ADC at all levels. “With the current situation of things in the country, ADC is the only party that can rescue Nigerians from the hands of APC.”
“We Don’t Want Gas, We Want Real Jobs”

Mama also sent a strong message to the ADC governorship candidate ahead of 2027. “When ADC takes over power come 2027, I want the ADC Governorship to take good care of our women differently, not the kind of gas, POS or rice empowerment that APC administration is giving out to the people.”
“In ADC, we don’t want gas. We want real jobs. Our women need cooperative empowerment.”
As the walk continued through Ikeja, more women joined, singing and chanting, while residents stopped to watch and collect handbills.
For Mama Jafojo and the ADC Women Lagos, the message was clear: Hardship Must End, and Lagos Women Have Chosen Atiku/Amaechi 2027.
