The All Progressives Congress (APC) has expanded President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign council with fresh appointments, naming the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, as coordinator for Rivers State and the FCT.
The supplementary list was announced on Wednesday in a statement signed by the APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, as the ruling party intensifies preparations for the 2027 general elections.
According to the party, the additional appointments cut across directorates, mobilisation structures and operational units to strengthen the campaign.
Sources within the APC confirmed that Wike, who is a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was named alongside other prominent figures including Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, and former Lagos Governor Babatunde Fashola.
The expanded council comes months after the initial membership was unveiled in August 2026, with President Tinubu as Chairman, Vice President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda as Vice Chairmen, Senator Abdulaziz Yari as Director-General and Imo Governor Hope Uzodimma as Secretary.
APC leadership said the inclusion of political heavyweights from across party lines is aimed at consolidating support and broadening the party’s base ahead of the 2027 polls.
The party added that the full campaign council will be inaugurated in the coming days.
